Been a busy year this year for me. It’s nice to be able to take a break for the holidays and just try to avoid the stresses of normal day to day life. I just had a few minutes this afternoon and thought I’d hop on a post a quick note wishing all my friends a Merry Christmas (damn the PC peeps) and a happy New Year!

So I know I haven’t been posting here much in the last few weeks but I promise it was for a good cause. I’ve been taking a much needed break from working after hours to just kick back and get back into the things that relax me.

There is much to be said for working all day at your normal design job and then rushing home to work on your side projects; and then there is much to say for sleep as well. For the last week I’ve been just kicking back, playing some Battlefield 2142, watching some fantastic movies and catching up on some print design books.

First, let me note that Battlefield 2142 despite its bugs and such is a great game. You can spend hours running around and finding new ways to suicide your own team, or follow the games design and … kill baddies. It was well worth the $40 I spent on it.

Secondly, I mentioned that I watched a few movies. These films included a new film called “Stranger than Fiction”. I’d recommend this movie to anyone looking for a great date movie, or just something that is easy on the brain. For being such a simple film the director did a great job creating a piece of art. It has a very unique style that really captures the audience.

So that was just a quick update on me. I am going to be picking work back up here in the next day or two. I have a few side projects that need finishing and this website’s design needs to be finalized on the drawing boards. I also have to catch up on my forum posts!

I can’t stand how slowly Dreamhost’s servers respond. It takes much too long for my site to load for me. I love their servers, plans, pricing and customer service, but is it just me or does it seem like Dreamhost might be overselling each server? What are your thoughts, fellow Dreamhosticans? I’m going to go rage into a hot chocolate for awhile…

Update: Dreamhost rocks, and have begun to set me up with a server that meets my needs. I continue to love them. If you want some hosting let me know and I’ll give you a referral code that will save you some money *cough*.
