America is dealing with a lot of important decisions right now. If we had a national Facebook page, it’s relationship status would be set to ‘It’s Complicated’. Few people have a clear grasp of any issue and our focus on hyperbole instead of fact and reason.

Leading up to January, I was extremely active on Facebook, Twitter and this website. However, since my first week at Avelient, we’ve been absolutely swamped with new opportunities and I went into heads-down mode to power through. Here’s a brief overview of what you have, or haven’t missed.

It comes down to establishing priorities, overcoming fear, and then being strong enough to move in the right direction.

Let’s be honest. We’re not all capable of attaining the skills and discipline of the GTD, business mavericks of our day: Tim Ferriss, Guy Kawasaki, etc. Even the title of this post is a play on the book Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, in recognition of the fact that not everyone is an overachiever. Consider this the advice for average people.
