AT&T continues to disapoint iPhone users by refusing to allow them to use tethering on their iPhones. Something that other carriers of the iPhone have been doing for months!
I am starting to think that I’ll be willing to pay quite a bit of money to leave AT&T early if another US phone carrier is allowed to carry the iPhone… even Verizon.
Which carrier would you like to see carry the iPhone in the US?

Absolutely, 100% Verizon. Though I’d love for AT&T to just work, they are definitely not doing anything to enamor their customers right now.
I’m giving AT&T a trial run for the next 2 years. Hopefully they’ll prove their worth.
I think Tmobile will be a logical choice because they use the same technologies as AT&T and Deutsche Telekom (they own Tmo) already carry the iPhone in Europe.
Anyone that complains about Tmobile service would have the same issues with any other carrier. “How come I have a weak signal 3 stories underground in this parking garage?!? Ugh I hate (insert carrier here)!”
Kevin — The problem with Tmobile is that they are losing customers! They are losing major market share in the US to AT&T and Verizon because they aren’t able to secure new smart phones exclusively.
I think that Verizon getting a CDMA compatible phone is probably going to happen, especially since the latest reports on Android passing up iPhone in market-share is simply due to the fact that the OS / phones are available on so many carriers and to “Buy 1 get 1 free” plans.
Honestly, my main complaints about AT&T these days are: 1) They haven’t allowed tethering on the iPhone — however, I now have a 3G iPad and no longer care about tethering for myself, however I still think it should be available and 2) Their data coverage is spotty for me… however that is probably due to the rural location I’m in.
